Pennoni, established in 1966, is a multidiscipline engineering and design consulting firm that provides personalized services and solutions to meet the needs of our diverse clients. We provide services to local, state, and federal government clients, private, commercial, industrial, and construction clients as well as to other professional firms. We are seeking an Engineering Intern to join our Dulles Office Team in Herndon, Virginia for a summer internship in our Land Development Group.

More specifically:
You will have opportunities to gain knowledge on different types of projects, preparing you for the remainder of your academic career and helping you shape your future as an engineering professional. Projects you will be involved with may include: public sector work on parks, schools and other government facilities; private and commercial land development and mixed-use projects; and roadway infrastructure projects.
You will be mentored and provided shadowing opportunities to grow in your career and may be asked to participate in networking events among clients, peers and other industry professionals.
You will assist engineering professionals and technical staff in performing various aspects of land development design, dry utility coordination and design, and in the preparation of plans and specifications for a wide variety of projects, bolstering your AutoCADD drafting skills and appreciating the sound interpretation of drawings.
You will learn the importance of proactive communication as you discuss expectations with the project team and meet regularly to review progress, gaining insight into scheduling, prioritization of tasks, time management, and their impact on the project team.
Minimum Job Requirements
Currently enrolled in accredited Civil Engineering, B.S. or M.S. program
Three (3) months prior relevant work experience or internship
Computer Skills: AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Adobe required; Civil3D preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently within a group setting
Ability to provide consistent attendance and punctuality
Ability to produce timely work and meet project schedule
Ability to work in an organized manner and efficiently manage shifting priorities
