Provide infrastructure support to a carrier grade messaging network. Responsibilities include: ? Work with developers in configuring carrier grade software products and perform system administration, implementation, configuration and maintenance tasks in a next generation enterprise production environment. ? Work within a team to maintain a stable production environment through focus on messaging applications and infrastructure therein. ? Deploy and maintain software to ensure the platform is running optimally, including Q/A, requirements gathering, installation, validation and bug management. ? Coordinate system and network upgrades and deployments with the network engineering and system engineering teams. ? Coordinate on solution design, deployment, and launch testing with the account management teams and clients. ? Provide level 2/3 support for NOC and Customer Care / Service Desk for identified and reported production issues. This includes supporting a 24/7 production environment within a recurring on-call rotation. ? Works closely with management and senior technical contributors to maintain project plan for deliverables. ? Experience documenting deployment configurations, processes and procedures. ? Work with customers to manage implementation process and to resolve service impacting issues. Relevant Experience: Obligatory: ? University degree (or other engineering / technical certifications and diplomas) or equivalent experience in IT, Telecom or Computer Science. ? 4-6 years relevant experience in a technical /engineering role - preferably within a mobile or software industry. ? Telecommunications/Mobile technology skills in SMPP, SS7, HTTP/S, MMS, SOAP and WAP protocols and technologies preferred. ? Knowledge of Java & .NET applications with focus on the following protocols - Web Services, SMTP, and JMS. ? Basic project management knowledge. Ability to define goals, tasks, dependencies and deliverables within established policies and standard practices. ? Ability to comfortably interface with internal and external customers on a regular basis. ? Must be self-motivated, possess high initiative level, and be decisive. Preferred: ? Ability to absorb, understand, analyze and identify critical problems that may result in an outage. ? Ability to make routine decisions, trouble diagnosis and prevention steps associated with issue resolution and provisioning activities. ? Must be able to work within a team and independently. ? A basic knowledge of SNMP and monitoring terminologies and framework ? Strong in Shell/Perl scripting and SQL queries (relevant certifications would be preferred). ? Well-versed and proficient in Redhat Linux and Windows operating systems environment. ? Knowledge of various Oracle, Sybase, SAP and MySQL queries as well as queue-based SwiftMQ infrastructure. ? 24/7 Application support experience. ?
