Director of TechnologyPositionCapital Education seeks an outstanding educator to lead all programs in all areas of information technology. The Director of Technology provides leadership in meeting the technology needs of the schools and programs by developing, coordinating and managing the technology program. The Director of Technology will join our leadership teams serving both The Auburn Schools and Little Leaves. This is a full-time, 12-month position.Responsibilities* Planning & Administration: providing a vision and leadership for short and long range planning for all technology initiatives, including instructional and management functions. Managing the computer budget and determining what hardware and software are needed, and purchasing, implementing and administering said hardware and software* Curriculum: working regularly with individual staff and broader departments to meaningfully integrate technology into the different programs* Technical Equipment: installing software packages, supporting use of online programs, troubleshooting technical problems, maintaining the equipment in the school, and developing a program for keeping equipment working efficiently. Ordering and keeping an inventory of equipment including an annual hardware and software audit* Web-based Apps and Services: exploring, implementing and supporting web-based solutions to address software needs in the classroom and programs at large. Administering a Google Apps domain and integrating any Extensions or third-party add-ons in order to form a fully functional suite of cloud software accessible to faculty, staff and students both in the building and at home* Policies and Procedures: providing leadership in establishing new programs, policies and procedures to support the healthy, secure and productive use of technology within the organizational walls and for our students, clients and families at home* Network: maintaining, organizing and supervising the school network. Securing and filtering network traffic. Enforcing acceptable use of network resources and privileges* Cooperation: working effectively and maintaining good relationships with staff and helping staff and students with technology projects* Training and Professional Development: developing, coordinating and delivering workshops/presentations to students, staff, parents and the wider community as needed. Stays current with advances in the field by attending technical workshops and conferences as approved* Other: performing such other functions and assuming such other responsibilities as the President may from time to time assign or delegateQualificationsApplicants must meet the following minimum qualifications, along with a combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance:* Bachelors degree (advanced degree preferred)* Familiarization with an Active Directory environment, consisting of Juniper Switches, a Fortinet firewall, Sonic Wall wireless access points, and Eaton backup power solutions.
