Role Summary: * Preparation and presentation of documents for decision-making processes (VAP and PSK) and the "CO2-Registrierkasse" for the Volkswagen brand. Responsible for developing, implementing & coordinating strategic product plans, ensuring the effective positioning of new vehicles, vehicle facelifts, model year change-over & action models for a select portfolio of vehicles within the Volkswagen line-up for North America (U.S. & Canada). * Representation of the business unit Product Management to all internal and external partners regarding the portfolio planning and CO2 emission planning. * Planning and controlling the CO2 strategy of the Volkswagen brand in the US market with the appropriate stakeholders and representatives of these strategies in the other Group brands. Creating process specifications for the implementation of CO2-emission targets in vehicle projects. Definition of CO2-emissions targets and harmonization in the trade-off between weight, fuel consumption and costs. * Representing the interests of the Volkswagen brand in the US market in the "Konzern-CO2-Steuerkreis". Preparation of project-specific committees' decisions (VAP, PSK or project boards) and ensuring their implementation. Role Responsibilities: * Definition and tracking of schedules for CO2-relevant projects of the Volkswagen brand and coordinating necessary changes * Identification of corrective measures for deviations from targets in coordination with K-GM and the affected business units. Assessment and participation in the "Planungsrunde" in core business processes. * Proposal and information to the vehicle projects, the product teams and all involved business units about the state of the projects in the US market and current trends relating to CO2. * Proposal and development of system and process improvements in CO2 projects. * Contact for the implementation of strategic technology topics for CO2 reduction. Interpretation and influence of legislation for the reduction of CO2 emissions. * Coordinate, monitor, & develop VWoA input for VW AG PSK in Product Zielkatalog, Lastenheft & Statusbericht papers for all U.S. markets relative to model portfolio. * Refine product specifications for planned models within portfolio planning. Drive integration of U.S. customer requirements into product specifications & development. * Participate in group & key strategic committees & meetings both in NAR & Germany, including: VW AG & Konzern PSKs, Product Teams, Product Forum, SoFa, WiFa as required. * Drive Planning Round process for model portfolio. * Communicate internal positioning & strategy of defined vehicles. * Throughout the constant change of a product's planning phase & lifecycle, provide strong leadership & set direction for a myriad of Volkswagen operational teams including but not limited to: Finance, Sales Operations, Marketing Communications, Press Relations, Product Strategy, e-Business, Service & Quality, Traffic & Transportation, Academy, Parts & Accessories, and Vehicle Emissions & Safety Certification. * Determine, implement, & communicate model year change points throughout lifecycle of the vehicle. * Individual tasks in accordance with special knowledge and experience of the jobholder.
