Hughes Network Systems has an exciting opportunity for an entry level PhD engineer focusing on theory to work in our headquarters in Germantown, MD. * Receives assignment in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. * Explore innovative ideas, algorithms, and processing techniques to improve efficiency or performance of communication systems in a team environment * Interactions amongst peers within Engineering and other functional groups * Define and implement simulation or tests to evaluate concepts and systems Basic Requirements * Masters degree and 3 years of relevant work experience or Phd in Electrical Engineering Preferred Qualifications * Background of digital communication, transmission systems, communication protocols or computer networks. * Experiences with independent research work in the above areas preferred. * Familiarity with basic software programming languages such as C/C++ and simulation tools a plus EchoStar and its Affiliated Companies are committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
