We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to work as part of a civil engineering design team in our Germantown, Maryland office. This position will support ongoing water resources and site civil engineering projects across the DC-Metro/Mid-Atlantic region. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to a variety of water resource engineering design projects Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member Develop solutions for routine technical problems Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources OR other related degree Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models) Strong desire to learn along with professional drive Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of MS Office Programs/Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment U.S Citizenship required Must be on track to attain Professional Engineer license A GPA of 3.0 or higher More advanced experience with standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models) Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
