Ideal Candidate Interested candidates should have experience working on initiatives and projects within education. Preference will be given for experience supporting contracts for the U.S. Department of Education (ED) including mid-level roles within technical assistance or research and evaluation efforts. Candidates should understand the dynamics and structures for federal contracts and the specific nuances and dynamics within ED programs. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have previously or are currently providing technical assistance and/or professional development to grantees, states, local educational agencies, or other educational entities. Additional preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate experience within the teacher and leader preparation and development content area and how their experience and background has resulted in meaningful relationships and growth opportunities within ED. Specific Education Associate activities include: Providing support in preparing for and conducting meetings with AEM, subcontractors, and clients including ED, state and local educational agencies, non-profits, foundations and education associations Identifying and supporting opportunities for expanding AEM’s support and influence in the field of education at the federal and local level Facilitating technical assistance/professional development on complex topics in politically sensitive environments Understanding the national landscape for relevant education topics such as teacher and leader development, educational equity, ESSA, and data management and use Providing remote and/or on-site support to education stakeholders and grantees Moderating virtual discussions, webinars, conference calls, and meetings Developing products, publications, deliverables, and plans Collecting, tracking, and using data to monitor support activities and drive improvements Identifying gaps in approaches to support and creating innovative solutions for clients and grantee stakeholders Collaboratively working with a team, including subcontractors Applying knowledge across a range of topics, such as teacher and leader development, personalized learning, educator credentialing, education technology, evidence-based practices, data management and use, and ESSA Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years' in an education-related role at a local educational agency, state, association, federal or contractor organization Strong preference for experience in a federal contractor role with the U.S. Department of Education Excellent written/verbal communication skills including presentations before small, medium, and/or large groups Well-developed organizational and time management skills Knowledge of federal, state, and local contracting regulations and processes Experience and relationships with the U.S. Department of Education Experience with information technology, technical assistance, educational data analysis, and grants management is preferred Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington, DC metro area Bachelor's degree required, Masters a plus Eligibility for a security clearance Federal law requires Twentybridge Staffing to verify identity and employment eligibility; with information from your I-9 Form.
