In this "hands-on" technical management role, this person will work with the Director of Engineering to schedule, design and implement the hardware requirements to support the company?s defense product road-map. Candidates must have a strong technical background and be capable of coming up to speed on new technologies quickly. Good communication skills, great problem solving skills, and the demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively are also required.Key Job ResponsibilitiesLead the Hardware team to design, develop and document board level hardware design from concept to production.Build, mentor and maintain a strong/collaborative team that interfaces properly through the iDirect Government organization.Create and execute a hardware engineering development plan, in conjunction with software and the overall iDirect Government product roadmap.Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices.Define goals and priorities for team members and review their performance.Communicate and enforce iDirect engineering process.Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.Identify trainings and seminars for each team member.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Technical Experience/BackgroundOver 7 years of experience in developing board level hardware / FPGA Design.Proven results of having contributed to entire product development life cycle.Experience with embedded Linux platforms.Experience with Xilinx Virtex family or Altera Cyclone and Stratix family of FPGAs.Experience with TDMA, FDMA, and CDMA modems.Experience with RF and Analog Hardware.Verilog experience using Quartus or Xilinx design softwareExperience in hybrid RF/Digital PCB board layout.Experience in high speed digital design (embedded processor, DDR, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, FPGA) .Experience in switching Power Supply design (DC/DC converters).Experience with schematic capture software (ORCAD/DXD).Familiarity with IP Networking protocols and standards.Knowledge of signal integrity and EMI/EMC issues - experience with signal integrity software (Hyperlynx).Practical experience in hardware debug - use of test equipment (DSO, Logic Analyzer, FRA, etc.).Appreciation for DFx (design for cost, test, manufacturing).Basic software development experience using C and/or Linux (scripting).Familiarity with electronics manufacturing process.Professional / Personal QualitiesDemonstrated leadership and communications skillsGood understanding and knowledge of technology in the field of Telecom or Satellite communicationsMust have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.Must be able to communicate (oral/written) effectively.Must be able to work under pressure.Must be able to analyze and solve technical problems.EducationBS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experienceClearance: Active DoD clearance or ability to obtain a DoD clearanceTravel: 0%iDirect Government is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
