For more information, please visit: http://www.siemens.com/businesses/us/en/building-technologies.htm **Job Description:** **Position Overview:** The Junior Analyst is responsible for conducting and monitoring the quantitative analysis within the energy market transactions and development, while supporting development of complex risk metrics; to include: volatilities, stochastic probabilistic distributions VaR, mark-to-market and option valuation. Moreover, the Junior Analyst will assist in the assessment of client risks, developing complex modeling and simulation tools and in developing various risk mitigation strategies for specific energy commodities including hedging tactics, physical vs. financial forwards, basis swaps, and options strategies; in addition to performing quality control on modeling specifications, as well as analyze the output of the models, conduct research and analyses within the natural gas, power, and oil commodity markets including fundamental analysis and technical analysis, as well as support the development of high-quality presentations and reports for clients as well as business development activities. **Responsibilities:** ? Proactively manage and process physical and financial commodities transactions ? Maintain a sound understand of mark-to-market (MTM), accrual, and value at risk calculations ? Perform various analytical functions on an ad hoc basis ? Remain abreast to risk policies and procedures and demonstrate ability to execute sound decisions ? Develop risk analysis and measurement methodologies ? Perform financial analysis using historical and forecasted information; to include: variance analysis, risk assessment, trend analysis and other statistical modeling ? Effectively communicate results and analysis in a concise manner both internally and externally; including formal presentations to customers on a regular basis. ? Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic business objectives **Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:** ? BA/BS in Finance, Information Management Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or other analytical field ? 1-2 years of experience in Energy, Finance, or Consulting industry preferred ? Superior quantitative and problem solving skills ? Exceptional organization skills and proven track record in resolving issues on several integrated projects ? Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and contribute in a team environment ? Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships ? Expertise in PowerPoint and Excel ? Ability to think quickly and accurately in order to resolve issues that constantly arise in an active trading environment ? Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork and ability to clearly articulate ideas (verbal and written communication) while ensuring stakeholders are engaged ? Maintains group/team cohesiveness to achieve common tasks and goals ? Identifies issues and problems, secures relevant information, considers alternative courses of action and makes good business decisions ?
